Body Practices for Pregnancy and Postpartum
The Cocoon Project is an initiative aimed at supporting and providing well-being to pregnant and postpartum people, using ANCORAR tools to promote dance and pelvic movement practices that meet the specific needs of these stages of motherhood. Recognizing the importance of special care during pregnancy and the postpartum period, the project proposes approaches that favor both the physical and emotional health of participants.
Objectives of the Cocoon Project
-
Promote the physical and emotional health of pregnant and postpartum people.
-
Use ANCORAR tools to offer practical and welcoming support.
-
Create a safe and empathetic environment for the expression of participants’ needs and feelings.
-
Strengthen the community of mothers, encouraging the exchange of experiences and mutual support.

Pregnancy: Support and Expansion
During pregnancy, we experience perhaps the greatest expansion our bodies can go through, both physically and emotionally.
In the practices for pregnant people, we will focus a lot on recognizing our internal supports, so that, from them, we can open up more space and gain more support strength to deal with the expansion that pregnancy and childbirth require. With the help of somatic practices and dance, we will become aware of our pelvis in its structure, function and expression, so that we can experience movement to its maximum potential.
Puerperium: Outline and Border
After experiencing such an expansion of pregnancy and childbirth, in the postpartum period, we experience an empty body.
Practices for the postpartum period will be conducted to reinforce the notion of contour, border and acceptance, exploring how this new mother can reconnect with her new body and rebuild her own spaces of individuality.
Exercises will be used to promote the recovery of support structures and to help build self-care tools. In addition, there will be moments of reflection and emotional support, allowing participants to share experiences and build a support network.
Individual Sessions
online and in person (Budapest)
One-hour practice sessions, led by Flora Mariah , where we will use the ANCORAR tools to develop a care approach directed at issues that emerge from personal processes.
In this format, through individual dialogue, we walk together on a path through the body and movement, seeking greater anchoring, vitality and autonomy.
If you are interested, we can schedule a free half-hour online meeting to talk, ask questions and discuss possible work paths.
