AMARÉFUNK was an event dedicated especially to Funk Carioca, developed and realized by Flora Mariah and Geisa Lino, which took place in 2015, at Complexo da Maré, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The project included free workshops (Urban Dances and DJ), open discussions and a closing dance, where there were also battles of Passinho and DJ among the students of the workshops.
Besides stimulating production through workshops, the proposal was also to create a transversal space for discussion about Funk within the favela. An invitation to reflect, question, listen and dance our good old Funk, in the place where it finds its greatest power, the slum.
